Koppar: AI PCB design from plain English to fab-ready boards

Hi, I'm Abijah. I built Koppar.

Why Getting from "I need a board that does X" to Gerbers a fab will accept takes a CAD tool, a parts library and a few years of habit. I wanted that to be a sentence, and I wanted an agent to be able to do it without me in the loop.

What it does

  • Describe a circuit in plain English and get a KiCad schematic, a placed and routed board, and a bill of materials priced from live distributor stock.
  • Gerbers are released only when the board passes every check: all nets connected, design rules clean, power traces wide enough for their current. Held boards say why.
  • An MCP server lets Claude Code or any MCP client drive all of it, including bringing its own KiCad project for placement, routing or a rule check. A KiCad plugin does the same from inside KiCad. Replies carry measured numbers, not descriptions.

Where it stands Standard builds with library parts are the solid path. Flex boards and integral copper features (edge fingers, solder lands) are new this week. I read every board that comes through and will look at your first one personally.

What I'd like to hear If you drive it from an agent: what did the agent need that the tools didn't give it? And if you want a board for something real, tell me what it is.
