About slim.to

slim.to turns a file into a tracked link. Upload a PDF or deck, or paste a URL, and you get a short link with a hosted viewer. When someone opens it you get an alert. The dashboard shows who it was, how long they spent on each page, how far they read and where they stopped.

Viewers never need an account. They can pin comments on a page and reply in threads, so feedback lands where it applies instead of in an email chain.

You control access with passwords, expiry dates, view limits and email-domain allowlists. You can swap the file behind a link without changing the URL or losing its analytics, and serve links from your own domain.

For Claude users, slim.to is a remote MCP connector (https://slim.to/mcp, OAuth). Hand Claude a file or ask it to write a page, and it publishes a tracked link. Later, ask Claude who read it and it reads the page-by-page analytics back to you.

PDFs and hosted pages get page-level analytics. Word, PowerPoint and Excel files are tracked on open and download.

How it was built with Claude

Most of slim.to was built with Claude Code as our development partner.

The MCP connector is a remote server with OAuth 2.0 and dynamic client registration, offering 9 tools: create a link from a file or URL, replace a link's file in place, list links, read analytics, and a chunked upload so large files aren't cut off by tool-call size limits.

The hosted-page builder uses the Claude API to draft and revise landing pages in a chat.

We use the connector ourselves. The six slim.to/for-* audience pages were published from a single prompt in Claude, and there's a write-up on the slim.to blog.
