What Should I Check Before Choosing VPS Hosting for a Growing Website?

I’m planning to move a growing website from shared hosting to a VPS and want to make sure I choose the right setup from the beginning.

I’ve been looking at different VPS plans, but the specifications can be confusing. Some plans offer more RAM, while others focus on CPU cores, storage, or bandwidth. I’m also trying to understand how much these factors actually affect website speed and stability.

I recently came across YouStable’s VPS Hosting in India, which looks interesting from a pricing and resource perspective. Before making a decision, I’d like to hear from people who have experience using VPS hosting.

What do you usually look for before choosing a VPS?

  • How much RAM is enough for a growing website?
  • Does NVMe storage make a noticeable difference?
  • How important is CPU performance for WordPress or web applications?
  • Is it better to start with a smaller plan and upgrade later?
  • Are there any common mistakes I should avoid when moving from shared hosting to a VPS?

I’d appreciate hearing about your own setup and what has worked well for you.

Yo, I think you should check CPU, RAM.

for normal growing WordPress site I think 2-4GB RAM should be enough to start. NVMe helps, specially when site has lot of database queries, but CPU + caching matters more for speed.

I think better to start with smaller plan and upgrade when traffic actually grows. .
